How do I prepare my manuscript?

We recommend you use typing paper and a new ribbon in your typewriter or printer for best quality and a dark consistency throughout. Since we will print your pages back to back, there is no need for you to type on both sides of the paper. Margins should be 3/4 inch on all four sides. We will adjust for binding when we print. Please number your pages.

What binding is available?

We are one of the few print shops in the area that can perfect bind. It is our most popular form of binding and consists of wrap around cardstock cover. We also have wire stitching and comb binding.

How will my manuscript be printed?

We will print your pages on 20# bond paper, size 8.5" x 11", to look like the pages you send us. Our paper is acid-free and archival quality; and has an 84 brightness. Books can be trimmed to a smaller size if desired. We will quote special prices for other types of paper, for books printed on one side only, and for books printed half size.

What about hard binding?

We have worked with a bindery in Kansas for several years. We will be happy to make arrangements with them and bill you accordingly. The books will then be shipped directly to you from the bindery. We can ship the unbound books to a bindery in your area if you prefer. Hard binding will be quoted on an individual basis.

Can Photographs be used?

Yes, you may include photos. Technology is quickly changing the way photos are reproduced. Prices will be quoted individually, depending on quantity, size, reductions, enlargements, etc. You may send original photos from which we will make screened halftones. You may also send in TIF or JPEG files on disk, CD, or Zip drive. We will print photos in black and white. Color copies can be made or provided for insertion in your books.

How do I send my manuscript to you?

You may send your manuscript in a box or padded mailing envelope by US mail, Federal Express, or UPS. Please ship to our delivery address at 6279 N. 21st Street, Ozark, MO 65721 when using Federal Express or UPS.

What about cover design?

You may design your own cover, or we can typeset one for you. Line drawings, clip-art, borders, and photos can be used on the cover.

What kinds of covers are used?

Our regular cover is a 67# Vellum Bristol. It comes in white, cream, tan, peach, yellow, gold, ivory, buff, green, blue, gray, lavender, lilac, orange, and pink. Bright colors (red, blue, green, and neon colors) are also available in 65# stock. Many other types and weights of cover stock are available at an additional charge.

How will my books be shipped?

We use UPS, so please include a street or route address. PO box numbers cannot be used for shipping.

How long will my order take to print?

We normally operate on a 30-45 day turnaround schedule. Allow an additional 4 weeks for hard binding.
